Our company has existed for more than 70 years, is a family-run company and combines experience with innovative talent. The production of air-conditioning equipment is at the heart of what we do. One focus is on special designs. At the same time, our system engineering is being expanded on an ongoing basis. The latest developments are pasteurising and drying machines for high-quality foodstuffs.
Our range of products includes a large number of machines and equipment for the food industry. The fully automatic, continuously operating salting, seasoning and coating systems from NOLTE are always equipped with automatic cleaning (CIP systems). Roasters can have automatic cleaning equipment (CIP) fitted as an option.
All Nolte products are hygienically designed and FDA compliant.
In addition to quality, environmental consciousness is foremost in our thoughts and actions. Our continuously operating belt roasters and dryers are used worldwide to thermally treat foodstuffs and other products. The comprehensive product range includes peanuts, hazelnuts, almonds, pistachios, macadamia nuts, cashew kernels as well as chicory and sugar beet crisps. Our NEXUS fluidised bed roaster is particularly suitable for coffee roasting. This innovative machine is versatile and can also be used for cocoa beans, unseasoned nuts and kernels, or granular goods which need to be dried. Powerful salting, seasoning and coating systems complete our portfolio. Naturally, our drying systems can also be used for other natural or technical products.
Thanks to our many years of experience, we design our systems very carefully and manufacture them to high quality standards. Burners, cooling and fans are integrated into the housing of our roasters and dryers. In everyday operation, they prove to be a reliable, low-maintenance and cost-effective “workhorse”. Our salting and coating systems are easy to operate and extremely flexible.
All the systems have a convenient control system which is set up according to your wishes. The roasters and dryers have a manual fire extinguishing system as standard, which can be automated. An integrated, automatic cleaning system (CIP – Cleaning-In-Place) is available as an option. In summary, our roasters and dryers are fully hygienic and easy to clean.
We would be pleased to tailor a system to meet your requirements and the space available at your premises. In addition, we supply or obtain many ancillary products, such as cooling air ducting, roasting extraction air ducting and cleaning (thermal, catalytic or biological), silos and conveying systems.
We fit our belt roasters and dryers with the appropriate belt type depending on which product you want to treat. Belt widths between 1,200 and 3,000 mm are available. We manufacture your system in corrosion-resistant or especially corrosion-resistant stainless steel. When used as a dryer, the required temperature can be generated by means of an electrical air heating system.
Our systems are directly or indirectly heated using oil, gas or electric power. Depending on the configuration, they produce temperatures of 20° C to 250° C. Heating and cooling can also be carried out on the same level without mechanical reloading. Since the roasting or drying air is fed alternately from above and below, the roasting result is particularly even. Depending on the product, treatment time and size, our systems have a drying or roasting capacity ranging from 500 to 10,000 kg per hour. Production is in 2 m segments, single or two part, which is particularly beneficial when loading trucks.
We produce roasters and dryers between 7 and 40 m length. We can also combine them to make longer systems.
Operators of equipment for food production must clean their machine for roasting or drying nuts, cores or other granular products regularly, but as a minimum before every product change. Of course, the system must be completely clean – at the same time, there is a strong business need for the cleaning process to be carried out cost-effectively so the machines can be used again in as short a time as possible.
The equipment can be installed when ordering a new system, or our experts can retrofit it to existing systems. The benefits are: Considerable time saving in cleaning and a better cleaning result while saving energy, cleaning agents, personnel costs and water. The time required to completely clean your belt conveyor can be reduced to a maximum of 1.5 hours. Consumption of detergents can be reduced by 70 per cent. Our reference project is a continuously operating belt roaster with a product output of 2,000 kg per hour.
Ergonomics and working safety are also significantly improved with the help of CIP systems. Cleaning is carried out automatically at the push of a button and the employee remains outside the machine. Several safety devices protect the operator and the environment against unwanted contact with the cleaning agents. Foam, tap water and compressed air are used for fully automatic cleaning.
Individual cleaning programs can be selected for automatic operation. The foam consistency, the spraying and reaction times and the number of repetitions are freely adjustable depending on the degree of contamination. In addition, there is a separate program module for cleaning the belt. The machine also allows Sterilisation In Place (SIP), because the use of disinfectants is straightforward.
Our NEXUS model is a very compact type of batch roaster or dryer. It is suitable for roasting and drying granular goods of all kinds – nuts, kernels, seeds, coffee, cocoa beans and cereals (e.g. malt). The Nexus takes up little space, has a low overall height and is extremely reliable. With short roasting times for your batches, it is particularly suitable for frequent changes of variety with smaller production quantities. All essential components are easily accessible in this model, making it particularly easy to clean and maintain.
The basis of the NEXUS is a unique fluid bed, which is produced by special floor perforation in the roasting chamber. The result at the end of the process is a perfect product from a surprisingly simple design.
The NEXUS 20 is a laboratory or loading roaster with a capacity of 20 kg of raw product per hour, the NEXUS 1000 for industrial roasting has a capacity of up to 1,000 kg of raw product per hour. In between we offer 300 and 500 sizes. We build the coolers according to the same principle. This gives you a complete system for your product. All systems are assembled and tested in the factory and are ready for operation on site very quickly.
Nuts, kernels, beans and the like can be continuously or gently salted or coated with our mobile salting plants. Salting and coating are carried out using simultaneous vertical conveying. A polished stainless steel coil reduces product adhesion to the surface. Good mixing results in an even appearance and an even distribution of the coating or the seasoning on the product. The mobile unit can be used independently of the roaster before or after roasting. Parameters such as salt and oil quantity, angle of the spiral and spiral speed can be precisely adjusted using a modern control system. The capacity of our plants is up to 2,500 kg per hour (pistachios, almonds, cashew nuts etc.). Thanks to their modular design, they are small, compact, and extremely flexible to use.
